Sarah is actually a very close friend of my sister-in-law! We got to meet a couple of years ago on a family beach trip here in Charleston, where I earned the nickname ‘Kamanda’ from their oldest daughter haha. When I announced I was holding a model call to test out a new location in downtown Charleston, Sarah and her family volunteered to drive down for it! I was thrilled to be able to photograph them as Sarah and John recently got engaged AND they have a new little boy who I hadn’t gotten to meet before. It is not an exaggeration to say this Charleston family session was a dream!

Prior to the session, Sarah and I chatted back and forth about the location and outfit choices. I love being able to provide assistance on my clients’ outfits before a session. It helps so much when I can provide my expertise on color and fabric choices to really achieve the vision you are looking for! We decided on a palette of neutrals and soft pinks to bring out the classic, romantic feel that downtown Charleston has. Evie’s pink ruffle dress is from Amazon and super affordable! It was so perfect for this Charleston family session! It felt like we were strolling through a secret garden as they ran and played with their children.
