Blooms & Bouquets | Wedding Flowers by Season

When I was planning my wedding, I realized that one of the most prominent aspects was also the one I was the least knowledgeable about… the BLOOMS! I had a consultation call with my florist to go over our flowers. What I liked, what I wanted in my bouquet, and what was even in season for our October wedding. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had no idea what any of the flowers she was mentioning actually looked like! I didn’t know the difference between a garden rose and a spray rose, or what a brunia berry was. As I was frantically trying to google images while I was on the phone I discovered something. While I had been scrolling through Pinterest and saving images of bouquets I liked, I had no way to communicate to my florist which flowers I did and didn’t want.

So in the hopes of saving you a little bit of time and stress, I wanted to share some of my FAVORITE wedding-day blooms! Now, one thing to remember is that not all flowers are available year-round. It seems kind of obvious when you think about it, but I didn’t take that into consideration when I was telling my florist what I wanted. I had it in my mind that I would have a fluffy bouquet with lots of peonies. What I hadn’t realized that they weren’t a fall floral and it wasn’t going to be possible. So let’s dive into some of my favorite wedding flowers by season!
