Kelley & Forrest Wedding | Historic Hopkins Farm

Apr 14, 2021

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting for Jacqueline and Laura at this spring wedding in Simpsonville, SC. It was my first time ever visiting the Historic Hopkins Farm and it is beautiful! The landscape was full of wide open grassy fields dotted with trees, lights gravel paths and a gorgeous house at the center of the property. So right off the bat I knew it was going to be a beautiful day. Then I got to meet Kelley while the girls were getting ready and she was so sweet! It always makes the day that much more fun when the couple is just so nice and happy.

Before Kelley’s first look with Forrest, she did a first look with her dad and it was such a sweet moment! I have to say, I am a big fan of doing multiple first looks. I did one at my wedding with my bridesmaids and it was one of my favorite moments! Then we put Kelley in hiding as Forrest got set up for their first look. It was adorable as they each exchanged gifts and read letters that they wrote to each other. Kelley got so choked up when she started reading that she had to ask Forrest to go first (serious tear-jerker moment). Everything about their day was so personal and heart-felt. It wasn’t a massive wedding with hundreds of guests and that meant that they had more time to enjoy the day with the people they were the closest to. When Forrest’s brother broke out his phone and hooked it up to the speakers for some dancing music, it wasn’t long before all the guests were either out on the dance floor or enjoying the view from around the fire pit. They had a beautiful wedding from start to finish and I am so honored I was able to be a part of it!
